Enveloped gaskets are produced in 2 forms: Milled type and Slit type.
The milled envelope gasket is a better choice out of the gaskets as it is made to fit the insert and presents a flat face to the flange.
The slit type gasket is however perfect for many applications especially where cost plays an important factor. This type of gasket does present a full face to the flange.
These gaskets are successfully used in chemicals plants, food processing, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries, glass lined equipment due to their capacity to withstand high temperature, corrosion and ageing resistance.
